Bantwal, Jan 30: A police jeep has fallen in a roadside gorge at B C Road when the driver lost control. The incident took place on Saturday January 30. Bantwal rural police station sub-inspector Sanjeeva and driver Sathish suffered injuries in the mishap and were admitted to a private hospital in Mangaluru.

Rural police station sub-inspector Sanjeeva and Sathish were going for night rounds duty when a cow suddenly came across the road in front of the mosque at BC Road circle. The driver lost control and rammed the jeep into the roadside electric pole. The jeep toppled in about a 40 feet deep gorge. Youths in a vehicle that saw the vehicle falling down. They rescued and ferried both the injured to Mangaluru in an ambulance coming that way and provided treatment.

    We can not hold cow responsible. Wondering why the cows are on the roads. The owner of the cow is responsible. We can expect many more cows on the roads in the near future
