Mumbai, Feb 1: Louis Jacky Sequeira was appointed as a section officer in Mantralaya's general administration department.

He would take charge as the marriage registrar for the Christian community in the city.

Newlywed couples were forced to travel to Pune to register after the previous officer retired in February 2020. A petition was also filed by a Vasai resident in the high court.
