Bengaluru, Feb 1: After a car rammed into a concrete mixer truck late night on Saturday on Kannur - Bellahalli main road within the limits of Chikkajala police station, four persons including a lady lost their lives.

The deceased were identified as P Shivashankar (26), Madhusudan (26), Milan Raj (19) and Anusha (22).

All the four had visited a restaurant at Hennur in the city for dinner. They were returning home at about 12.30 am on Sunday when the accident happened. It is said that reckless and overspeeding on the part of Madhusudan, who was driving the car, caused the accident. The car plowed into the mixer so hard that more than half the car got flattened and stuck below the chassis of the mixer.

The three male occupants of the car died on the spot. Anusha, who had suffered grave injuries, succumbed at a hospital sometime later, without responding to treatment.

Immediately after the accident, the mixer driver stopped the vehicle and escaped from there. On the basis of a complaint filed by Chenne Gowda from Sathanur, a case has been registered and investigation has been taken up, a personnel of Chikkajala traffic police station said.
