Kundapur, Feb 2: A black leopard died at Badakere near Byndoor after being hit by a passing train.

It is said that the accident happened when the leopard was crossing the railway tracks looking for food.

The leopard was a male and about four and a half years old. The forest department officials who visited the spot took the lifeless body of the leopard into custody.
