Bantwal: Renovation, Brahmakalashotsava of Durgaparameshwari temple to be held from Feb 12

Bantwal, Feb 2: "The renovation, Brahmakalashotsava and other rituals of Durgaparameshwari temple at Karenki, Moodanadugodu village will be held from February 12 to 17," said Brahmakalashotsava media committee convener, Manmath J Shetty Puttur.

Speaking at a news conference at Karenki on Monday, he said, "Development works worth Rs 75 lac are conducted in the temple. Preparations for the Brahmakalashotsava are done. The celebrations will begin with Horekanike on February 12. Bantwal MLA, Rajesh Naik Ulippadiguthu will set the procession in motion. There will be bhajans by various bhajan teams.

"There will be religious meetings and cultural programmes every day. Mohandas Swamiji of Sridhama Manila, Gurudevananda Swamiji of Odiyoor, Sadhvi Matanandamayi, Isha Vittaldas Swamy of Kemar, district minister, MP, MLAs and former ministers will take part."

Committee president Darnappa Poojary, renovation committee president Ramachandra Shetty Dande, vice president Karunendra Poojary, managing committee president Naryana Gowda, vice president Poovappa Mendon Karenki, chief secretary Manoj Kumar, Dinesh Poojary, Vittal D, Santhosh Dhanaraj, Avinash and Nagesh were present.
