Udupi: Katapady parish wins cooking without fire competition organised by ICYM Udyavar

Udupi, Feb 2: St Vincent De Paul Church Katapady won the first place along with Rs 10,001 and trophy in the cooking without fire competition organized by ICYM Udyavar in commemoration of their 50th-year anniversary. Udyavar St Francis Xavier Church won the second place and a cash prize of Rs 7,007, while St Pius Church Palimar received the third place along with a cash prize of Rs 5,005 and trophy.

The event was inaugurated by Fr Dr Rock D'Souza, parish priest Palimar Church. Fr Stany B Lobo, parish priest, Udyavar Church presided over the program. State-level awardee in agriculture and businessman Daniel Ranjer congratulated the efforts of the organizers.

Teams from Trasi, Kundapur, Sasthan, Udupi, Moodubelle, Palimar, Katpady, Shirva, Kanajar, Kuntalnagar and Udyavara parishes participated in the contest. Contestants prepared salads, juices, sandwiches, cakes within one hour. Renowned RJ Errol Gonsalves and ace anchor Rosalia Cardoza conducted various games for the entertainment of the audiences. Konkani comedy king Dolla Mangalore made the audience laugh out loud with his jokes.

Fr Rolwin Aranha, assistant parish priest, Melwin Noronha, vice president Parish Pastoral Committee co-sponsor of the event Wilfred D'Souza, Joseph Gracy Cardoza, Lawrence Cardoza, director Ronald D'Souza, ICYM president, Royal Castelino, secretary Jane D'Souza, advisors Royce Fernandes, Julia Fernandes were present on the occasion.

Michael D'Souza, president ICYM Golden Jubilee committee welcomed the gathering. Justin Cardoza rendered the vote of thanks. Asuntha Machado and Irene Pereira compered the program.
