Mumbai, Feb 5: In a shocking incident, a father killed his 20-month old child after the mother asked for Rs 5 to buy a snack for the crying child. The incident occured at Lonara village in the Gondia district of Maharashtra.
Vivek Uike (28), the accused was arrested. It is said that when Vivek's wife asked for Rs 5 to buy a snack in order to pacify the wailing child, he allegedly picked up the child and smashed her head on a door repeatedly. The child received severe injuries on her head and died on the spot.
The mother then filed a complaint. Vivek was arrested and booked under charges for murder.
The couple was married in 2018, but the woman had left his home as he used to beat her after getting drunk it is said. In 2019, she had returned back to his home.
