Kadaba, Feb 6: The temporary bridge built across River Kumaradhara by the villagers through voluntary work at Paloli near Pijakala within Kadaba town panchayat limits was repaired and it was opened for vehicular traffic on the evening of Thursday February 5.

Foundation stone for the temporary bridge that was built of sand, stones, concrete pipes etc had been laid seven years back. During every monsoon season, this bridge got damaged and during every summer, people used to renovate it. Following in this practice, this year too, the bridge has been built again. This bridge acts as a link for Yedamangala, Pijakala and Kadaba.

The reconstruction work this time cost Rs 40,000. People of Yedamangala and Kadaba have extended financial assistance. Some donors have also come out with contributions.

Even though the distance between Paloli and Yedamangala is just two km, because of the river, the people have to cover 15 km to reach there. Because of this bridge, they can reach Yedamangala by travelling five km. Kumaradhara Yuvaka Mandala showed enthusiasm in building this temporary bridge initially. The bridge is 120 metres long and ten metres wide.

Vehicular traffic began on the bridge on Thursday with the priest of Yedamangala temple, Seetharamaiah, breaking the coconut. Paloli Shaswatha Sethuve Horata Samiti leaders were present.
