Bantwal, Feb 9: In an accident which happened at the Kashimath bend near Vittal on Monday, February 8, a 55-year-old man lost his life.

The accident happened when a Bolero car knocked down a motorbike from behind. The victim of the accident was Balakrishna Shetty, a resident of Palattila, Barimaru, Mani. He has left behind his wife and a son.

Balakrishna was a farmer by profession. He also functioned as an agent for borewell machinery and backhoes. When he was moving towards Ukkuda from Vittal, a Bolero car that was moving towards Perla from the direction of Puttur hit his vehicle from behind. Shetty was thrown to the road as a result and instantly lost his life, while the bike was also thoroughly damaged.

Vittal police have registered a case.
