Mangalore Jun 25: State Congress committee held a protest in front of the deputy commissioner’s office here to urge the government to reinstate Lokayukta Justice Santhosh Hegde on Friday June 25.

The protest was to inform that a cabinet minister wanted an officer to be suspended because the latter's probe had exposed that tonnes of iron ore were being illegally exported from Karwar. Such sincere officers should be appointed to duty, they demanded.

The protestors said that the Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa should request the lokayukta to take back his resignation and provide needed facilities to take his position without any fear. The corruption and injustice taking place in the system should be stopped to keep the citizens safe to live in the country, they added.

MLA U T Khadar, Vinay Kumar Sorake, district Congress vice-presidents Kallige Taranath Shetty, Suresh Ballal and Ibrahim Kudichal, district Congress general secretary Harikrishna Bantwal, M G Hegde, T K Sudhir and Sadashiva Ullal, Mahila Congress president Mamatha Gatti and Mangalore City Corporation opposition leader Ashok Kumar D K were present.

All what was happening with the Lokaayukta Chief was in public domain. Then why these fellows are making noise now. By the way the issue now is two thieves involved with the iron ore theft had the audacity to call the kotwal for an official meeting. And then suspend him. Karnataka has outstripped Bihar in corruption.

It is absolutely right. There are only few honest officers and politicians. If we lose them too, then the country will go to dogs. It is already suffering from rampant corruption and nepotism.
Some Chief Ministers are treating the STate like their grand father's property. They bring in their sons, daugters, grand children ..of their various wives into power and all are amassing wealth that will take care of twenty generations. Such is the state of affairs. IT is needless to mention how things are at the Center. The lady from Italy is all the powerful today. Her son, with no experience or accomplishments is going to rule this Nation. Everywhere there is only Dynastic Rule, in the name of Democracy. They have taken the people for granted. People's welfare is in the last of list of priorities.
no one is there to question. Looting the nation, is at its peak.
In such a situation, we cannot afford to lose handful of honest people.
The offer suspended has to be reinstated.
the corrupt should be punished. the sons of a police constable, became millionaairs, not by their hard work or by rightful way, but by corrupt practices and by cheating the poeple. They went to the extend of even changing the Chief Ministers who was elected by the people. No one knows where these two brothers are.
Congress should fight till the honest officer is reinstated and till the corrupt minister is punished.

Nice to see good turnout for the protest arranged by DCC.Some times, it is a feeling that the issue is of concern for entire state and why there should not be a total protest in a bigger way above party line in the home District (earstwhile DK)of Justice Santhosh Hedge? Now it appears that Justice Hegde is in no mood to withdraw his resignation. However I still believe he may accede to the request of people of TULUNAADU is properly placed.
