Mumbai: Two youths gangrape 19-year-old, one arrested

Mumbai, Feb 9: The police arrested a youth among two accused after a 19-year-old-girl from Kharghar alleged that the duo, residing in her building sexually assaulted her inside a minibus parked on the roadside after forcing her to consume liquor. She reported that the incident occurred around 10 pm on February 3.

The arrested youth reportedly works as a pizza delivery boy. The key accused is said to be around 22 years old and works as a temporary driver.

The prime accused is said to have lured the girl in the pretext of giving her a surprise and took her for a ride. He then purchased liquor and forcibly made her consume the liquor after taking her inside the minibus parked beside Kharghar. After the girl was inebriated, he sexually assaulted her and then called the 19-year-old accused who too then assaulted her sexually and the duo escaped leaving her in a pathetic state.

The girl somehow managed to reach her home taking an auto-rickshaw. She managed to reveal the incident only after she gained consciousness the next day.

The parents registered an FIR against the two on February 4. Medical test reports confirmed that she was sexually assaulted. The accused were booked under IPC Section 376D (gangrape), 328 (causing hurt by means of poison), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), and 506 part II for criminal intimidation.
