Bangalore: Governor Directs Govt to Crush Land, Mining Mafia

Daijiworld Media Network – Bangalore (SP)

Bangalore, Jun 26: “During the year I have been functioning here, I am concerned to note that illegal mining activities have gained momentum. At the same time, land mafia too has gained in clout. The government has failed to arrest these social evils. Hence, the government should immediately initiate steps to crush these mafias and restore order,” said state Governor, H R Bhardwaj.

When asked him to reveal how much marks the state government has scored in his opinion, at a time when the state government is celebrating two years of its achievements, the Governor refused to reveal his rating, but passed strong comments against the government.

“The Lokayukta institute that is expected to handle corruption has not been able to function properly.  Its head, Justice Santosh Hegde, has resigned. There are several disputes in the High Court. The situation is so bad that many independent institutions like State Human Rights Commission have not been able to function effectively,” he remarked.

He commented that North Karnataka region has been neglected the most, while the coastal areas have been witnessing development. He expressed resentment at the fact even the educational institutions in the state have not been able to function properly, expressing concern over the prospects of falling quality of education as a result.

He criticized the usage of Palace Grounds here by every organization for holding its conventions. “As huge dais and other temporary structures can give rise to tragedies any time, I urge the government for building a huge auditorium for such purposes in the city,” he added.

Governor should talk sense. How can the state BJP Govt crush land and mining mafia's? The entire karnataka knows that BJP ministers themself are business bosses doing illegal trade & looting state. You are asking too much from their cheif.

The 2,500cr illegal iron ore can work wonders for BJP in buying people and paper.
