Mangalore, Jun 26: The entire coalstal belt comprising Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada and Udupi district, received heavy rains on Friday June 25. The rains have brought smiles on the faces of farmers, who have undertaken farming activity with renewed vigour.

Bantwal taluk in Dakshina Kannada district received very heavy rains. Shirali in Uttara Kannada recorded 15 cms of rain. Kundapur taluk received 13 cms of rain, with the city getting ten cms. The meteorological department has predicted rains to continue during the period ending with Sunday morning.
