Mangaluru, Feb 10: The 229th monthly repertory programme was held on February 7, at 6.30 pm, at Kalangann, here, under the sponsorship of Mandd Sobhann.

Singer Rony Crasta rang the bell and set the programme in motion. ‘Jinye Rang, a musical programme began as Konkani poet Walter Dantis explained the way the songs rose. Veteran singer couple Eric and Joyce Ozario sang the song ‘Kirak Mog Peracho’ and entertained the audience.

Singers Robin Sequeira, Ashwin D’Costa, Velita Lobo, Elton Pinto, Seema D’Souza, Ashna D’Silva, Shervin Maben, Loy Valentine and Arun Danti rendered their voice for various songs.

The songs that won in the competition of time and remained in the minds of people, ‘Sandun Gellya Chedwa’, ‘Kesar Kalo’, Vengenth Dharun’ (with music composition by Eric Ozario), ‘Mainge Main’, ‘Duruvn Duruvn’, ‘Life with you’, ‘Handiyechin Swapnan’, ‘Tight Fit Jeans’, ‘Jinyechi Shiksheki’, ‘Gharanth Anj’, ‘Hadtha Ugdas’, ‘Rosa Dees’, ‘Gongo’ (with music composition by Loy Valentine) enthralled the audience.

Nach Sobhann team members Snehith Pinto, Delicia Pereira, Diyana Mendonca, Karishma Monteiro, Glenina, Jeevan Siddi, Vanessa and Lenita D’Souza performed dances under the leadership of Rahul Pinto. A memento was presented to the Eric-Joyce Ozario couple by Walter Dantis.

Band Charitra provided the music. Loy Valentine Saldanha, Patson Pereira, Ivan Pereira, Rikith Soans, Shervin Maben, Rouben Machado and Alston Gomes played various musical instruments.

Competitors of the final session of the world class singing competitions held for around 750 participants by England’s Konkani organization S K A London were felicitated and winners were awarded prizes at the beginning of the programme.

Mandd Sobhann office bearers Eric Ozario, Luvi Pinto, Kishore Fernandes and Sunil Monteiro were present.

TV programme narrator Arun Danti compered the programme.
