Mangaluru, Feb 10: Renowned cardiologist Dr B M Hegde, senior member of Association of Physicians of India, DK chapter was recently felicitated by API DK chapter for receiving the prestigious Padma Vibhushan award.
Dr Venkatesh BM, president API DK, Dr Archana Bhat, secretary, Dr C C Pais, Dr Ganesh Kandigai and Dr Roshan were present.
Though the list of winners is announced on January 25 every year, the awards are given to the recipients usually around March or April every year, in a ceremonial event at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Dr B M Hegde was among the 119 Padma winners for 2021. Dr Hegde has also been the recipient of Padma Bhushan in 2010 and was awarded the prestigious Dr B C Roy award in 1999. He has authored several books on medical practice and ethics.
