Bantwal, Feb 12: Usha Krishnappa is elected vice president of Vittal town panchayat for the remaining term unopposed.

As there was a reservation for scheduled tribe categories in the past, Jayanth Naika was the vice president. His term was over. Now that backward class A category woman reservation is announced, Usha Krishnappa is elected vice president.

Bantwal tahsildar Rashmi conducted the elections. Vittal town panchayat chief executive Malini, inspector Pakeera Moolya and village accountant cooperated.

Town panchayat standing committee president Manjunath Kallakatta, members Arun M Vittal, Ramdas Shenoy, Raviprakash, Srikrishna, Lokanath Shetty Kolya, Jayanta, Chandrakanti Shetty, Indira Adyali, Geeta Purandara, Sandhya Mohan, BJP’s Mohandas Ukkuda, Udayakumar Alangar, Annu Poojary and Karunakar Naithottu took part.
