Belagavi, Feb 13: "I will be targeting the Gokak constituency, which is now represented by minister Ramesh Jarkiholi. My aim is to defeat Jarkiholi. If the party so desires, I am ready to fight the assembly election from the Gokak constituency in 2023," said Belagavi (rural) MLA, Laxmi Hebbalkar.

Speaking to media persons at Belagavi airport on Friday February 12, she said that she is not silent with regard to comments, statements and allegations being passed by Ramesh Jarkihioli against her. She said that the people of the Belagavi rural constituency will give him a fitting response.

In a sharp reaction to Laxmi's statement, Ramesh Jarkiholi said that Laxmi Hebbalkar is most welcome to change her constituency from Belagavi (rural) to Gokak to take him on.

"In a democracy, everyone has got the right. Let her come and fight from, anywhere. I am not concerned about it. People of the state know everything. It would be best for her to seek an answer why the coalition government crashed, from her godfather," he said, indirectly criticizing D K Shivakumar.
