Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (HB/EP)

Udupi, Feb 12: Those who violate rules of payment of charges and of disposal of waste in the district are being fined. Those who produce trash should segregate it as dry waste, wet waste and risky waste and hand them over to the agency that collects waste.

Throwing trash in public places is banned. Those who throw it will be identified by guards at night and early morning and fined. Rs 1,23,000 was collected as a fine in January this year.

Stricter action will be taken if the violations are repeated. The municipal commissioner in a press release requested people to follow the necessary guidelines and cooperate.
