Cyclothon for Swachh Survekshan 2021 launched in Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Feb 13: The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) administrator, Gaurav Gupta flagged off a Cyclothon at the civic body’s head office premise on Saturday.

The cyclothon was organised to raise awareness among the citizens about the 'Swaccha Sarvekshan -2021' under BBMP limits.

Speaking after the launch programme, Gaurav Gupta said the Cyclothon is held to create awareness about maintaining cleanliness in the city. The citizens' participation will play a key role in the campaign.

He requested everyone to take part and help the city get a good rank in the annual cleanliness survey.

The administrator said bicycle lanes and safer pedestrian sidewalks are being built in the city by BBMP, Smart City and DULT for the benefit of the public.

The Cyclothon first proceeded to Cubbon Park through BBMP head office, Country Club, Vidana Soudha, Coffee Board, Chinnaswamy Stadium, UB City, Mallya Hospital and concluded at BBMP office.

BBMP special commissioners D Randeep and J Manjunath, joint commissioner (solid waste) Sarfaraz Khan, chief engineer (solid waste) Vishwanath, and other officials were present on the occasion.
