Mangaluru, Feb 13: Members of the National Students Union of India (NSUI) on Saturday February 13, staged a protest in front of KSRTC bus stand Bejai, here, demanding BJP-led state government to provide free bus passes to college students.

Speaking to the media, Farook Baiabe, state secretary of NSUI said, "The state government claimed that they would provide free buses to students following a covid-19 pandemic. But now, the government failed to fulfill the assurance. Several rural students are facing financial uncertainty due to the pandemic, so the government should provide free bus passes to students. If not, we will continue our struggle till we get justice."

NSUI district president, Sawad Sullia said, "Students have one wait for several in front of the bus stand as there is a problem on Seva Sindhu app. The free pass is a predominant demand of the students. Hence, the government should provide bus passes within three days. If not, NSUI will call for a college bandh to protest against the government."
