Bengaluru, Feb 13: Karnataka’s Deputy Chief Minister Dr C N Ashwath Narayan, who also holds electronics, IT/BT, and S&T portfolios, called on Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday in Delhi and sought his help in getting the 750 acres in Belagavi, which is in possession of the defence department, to facilitate the establishment of the proposed IT Park.

Dr Narayan said the handing over of the land to the state government would help in establishing an IT park and also to set up electronic hardware, aerospace, and other manufacturing industries.

The land originally belongs to the Belagavi village is located adjacent to the NH No.4 and is ideal for the development of IT park. Though the state government had ordered for the resumption of this land in November 2012, it is still continued in the possession of the defense department, Dr Narayan explained.
