Ramanagara, Feb 15: State minister for tourism, C P Yogeshwar, announced that he will fight the next assembly election from Channapatna constituency in the district. He asserted that Channapatna has been the place where he worked and served the people, and there is no proposal to shift his field of work.

Speaking at his residence at Channapatna, Yogeshwar dismissed the rumours that he will be entering the election fray from Hunsur. "Why would I go there? I will stay put in my native constituency," he asserted.

The minister stated that the chief minister has promised to earmark Rs 5,000 crore for tourism. He said he has met the union minister and urged for releasing grants for the development of the tourism sector.
