Udupi: KPCC panelist Veronica Cornelio condemns frequent rise in cooking gas prices

Udupi, Feb 15: KPCC panelist Veronica Cornelio condemned the increase in cooking gas prices by the government by Rs 50 every four days.

The government had assured during the elections of ‘Acche Din’ saying that the gas prices will be reduced. But we are suspicious if the government is working for the welfare of the people or is looting them.

The government created confusion in the beginning that the gas cylinder subsidy will be credited to the bank accounts. Thousands of people were not getting subsidies then. The subsidy was subsequently stopped. The constant rise of prices of petrol, diesel and cooking gas seems that they are squeezing the blood of ordinary people.

People badly affected by coronavirus struggling to spend on daily essentials are stunned by the increase of prices on a daily basis. We wonder if this is the ‘Acche Din’ promised by the government, she stated in a press release.
