Udupi: H V Kamath Associated with Manipal Group, Breathes His Last

Udupi, Jun 29: Hattiangady Venkatraya Kamath (90), popularly known as H V Kamath, breathed his last on Monday June 28 night at a hospital in Manipal. He is survived by two daughters.

Kamath, who had been an additional general manager of Syndicate Bank, had also functioned as the bank’s executive director for a short term. After retiring from the bank, he started serving as the secretary of Manipal-based Dr T M A Pai Foundation.

He also served as the trustee of Kasturba Medical College Trust, Manipal Institute of Technology Trust and Manipal College of Hotel Management Trust. He was the president of Basur Sharada College Trust and Konkani Bhashoddhara Trust, which publishes Konkani monthly, ‘Panchakadayi’.

Kamath was known for his selflessness, friendly nature and honesty.

His funeral is slated to take place toay afternoon at Beedinagudde. His body will be kept at his residence in Anantnagar Manipal from 10.30 am onwards to enable people to pay their last respects.
