Kundapur, Feb 19: Congress-supported candidate Lawrence D’Souza was elected president of Anagalli gram panchayat unopposed. Prabhaker Mogaveera of BJP was elected vice-president. The elections were held on February 19. The position of president was reserved for the general category and the post of vice-president was reserved for backward tribe A category.

Prabhaker Mogaveera and Mukambu had filed nominations for the post of vice-president. While Prabhaker Mogaveera received six votes, Mukambu received two votes.

Horticulture department officer Sanjiv Naik conducted the election process. BJP Mandala president Shanker Ankadakatte, Sunil Herikudru, Gopala Kalanji, Congress’s Gangadhar Shetty, Vinod Crasta and others were present.
