Kundapur, Mar 15: "None of the issues will be in non-resolving states. If there is coordination between the lawyers the issues can be resolved," opined the judge of the high court and administrative judge of Udupi district Suraj Govindraj.

Justice Govindraj visited the additional district court of the city on Saturday and received honour from the bar association.

Justice Govindraj further said, "Instead of dragging the case for a long time, the client should be friendly and attempt to finish it off fast. Every client expects the issue to be resolved rather than the verdict itself. By instilling faith in the client, the issue can be resolved.

"In the Lok Adalat that took place last year in the state 10 lac cases are resolved. This year, the Lok Adalat will take place on March 27. There is a demand to resolve 900 cases in Kundapur. Attempt should be made to increase this to 2,000. By December a new building will be constructed here.

Speaking on the occasion, the president of the Kundapur bar association, Salwadi Niranjan Hegde, who presided over the function, said, "Additional courts are going to be shifted to the new building. As there is an opportunity for four courts to function simultaneously, one court should be sanctioned for resolving cases involving cheques."

Hegde also appealed to the justice to transfer the land acquisition cases that are shifted to Udupi back to Kundapur.

District judge Subramanya J N, Additional district judge Narahari Prabhakara Marathe, senior civil judge Rangegowda, chief civil judge Danesh Mugali and JMFC judge Nagaratnamma were present.

Chief secretary of bar association Pramod Hande welcomed the gathering. Malyadi Jayarama Shetty gave the introductory speech. J Srinath Rao compered the programme. Vote of thanks was rendered by Raviraj Hegde.
