Kaup: Toll concession demand met - Service buses begin Hejamady operations

Daijiworld Media Network - Kaup (SP)

Kaup, Mar 16: The conciliation meeting held by the service bus owners with Hejamady toll officials on Monday March 15 over the issue of charging heavy toll fee on buses moving on Hejamady interior route proved to be successful. As a result, service buses will begin to ply on Hejamady MBC Road beginning from Tuesday March 16.

Opposing the unilateral decision of the toll authorities to withdraw concessional toll charges extended to service buses using the interior road, Canara Shuttle Bus Owners Association representing 40 shuttle buses moving on the Hejamady route had undertaken indefinite suspension of bus movement from Monday. They had also warned of withdrawing express buses from Tuesday.

Now the talks have succeeded and the officials have agreed to extend the 40 percent concession, it is learnt.
