Beltangady: Youth taking bath at Dharmasthala drowns

Beltangady, Mar 16: Rakshit (20), resident of Konemane in Kerekoppa village, Sagar taluk, Shivamogga district, who had come to pay obeisance at Lord Manjunatheshwara temple Dharmasthala, drowned in River Netravati. It is said that he slipped and drowned when taking bath in the bathing bay of Dharmasthala.

It is said that the family along with the ill-fated youth were not conversant with the depth of water at different points of the bay. Even though those with the boy tried to help, none of them knew how to swim and as such, could not rescue the boy.

On the basis of complaint filed by a relative of the youth, Nagaratna, a case of unnatural death was registered in Dharmasthala police station.
