Kolar, Mar 16: "If at a future date our party is under compulsion to forge an alliance with the Congress, I will prefer to opt for retirement from politics," declared former chief minister and JD(S) leader, H D Kumaraswamy.

He was speaking to media persons on Monday March 15. He stressed that in his entire political career, he had never approached the Congress with a proposal for alliance. "With the hard work of our party workers, the party has been built. If I face a situation where I have to visit the doorsteps of other people seeking for their support, I will opt to leave politics," he said.
