Kundapur: Meeting held over development of Trasi, Maravanthe, Someshwar beaches

Kundapur, Apr 1: A meeting was held in the leadership of MLA B M Sukumar Shetty and MP B Y Raghavendra at Trasi Konkan Kharvi auditorium with the officials of the tourism department on Thursday over the development of Trasi-Maravanthe and Someshwar beaches.

MLA B M Sukumar Shetty said a proposal of Rs 25 crore has been being prepared to develop Maravanthe Trasi beach and Ottinene beaches. “A proposal of Rs 5 crore is already prepared for Maravanthe beach. Rs 10 crore for each beach is approved in the budget. Both the beaches will be shaped as model tourist beaches soon,” he said.

MP B Y Raghavendra said that the state government is giving priority to tourism in the state. “It will also enable jobs for the youth. Blueprints for both projects are prepared. A tender will be called after the preparation of the DPR. There are plans to prepare an airstrip at Byndoor Otthinene under the UDAN project,” he said.

Tourism department deputy director, Anita Bhaskar, assistant director, Somashekar B K, Mangaluru tourism department AEE, Manjappa, NHR engineer, Ramesh, Kundapur taluk panchayat, president Indira Shetty, Byndoor taluk panchayat president, Mahendra Poojary, district panchayat members, Shankar Poojary Yadthare, Rohith Kumar Shetty, taluk panchayat members, Surendra Kharvi, Umesh Shetty, Deepak Kumar Shetty, Prakash Jiddu, Priyadarshini Beskur, Venkatesh Kini, Bhagirathi Suresh and others were present.
