Mangaluru: Enthusiastic celebration of YCS Yvotsav 2021 held at St Joseph Engineering College

Mangaluru, Apr 21: YCS Yvotsav 2021, the meet of YCS (Young Christian Students) units of the city deanery was hosted recently by St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC), here.

YCS members along with the animators of Vamanjoor, Cordel, Shaktinagar, Bajal, Bajoddi, Bondel, Derebail, Kelarai, Neermarga and Permai parishes attended this day-long event. Around 240 YCS members along with their animators took part and actively participated in this mega extravaganza.

The meet began by seeking Almighty’s blessing through a holy mass at St Pio Chapel of SJEC. Fr Rupesh D'Souza, director of YCS, Fr Wilfred Prakash D'Souza, director of SJEC and Fr Alwyn D'Souza, assistant director of SJEC and director of YCS Mangalore City deanery were the celebrants of the holy eucharist.

The inaugural of YCS Yvotsav 2021 was held at the Kalam auditorium of the college that began with the dignitaries lighting the lamp. Post the formal inaugural, cultural competitions including a mime show, group dance, selfie competition, group singing among others were held.

The day also witnessed inter-parish cricket and throwball tournaments. The valedictory and prize distribution ceremony was held at the newly inaugurated amphitheater of the college.
