"Why the patient party wasn't updated for the shift?" From my best guess, Cases are coming in daily and they need them more? Therefore notification of the family wasn't considered a priority. Especially since the patient got better. As much as I feel for the family and the loved ones of the deceased, no one in that hospital wants to see more people die. Something like 3 people are dying in the covid wards daily. It's hurtful when they do the best they can for their patient, and then the unfortunate happens, they're abused, assaulted and antagonized. Doctors have loved ones too that they're worried about. Doctors have lost their lives and their lives ones as well fighting this pandemic. A little understanding, compassion, and humanity goes a long way. Pease do your bit. That's all the best of us can do.. “In nothing do men more nearly approach the gods, than in giving health to men.”- Cicero Doctors aren't asking for worship. They're asking for humanity.

Dear DW team, we appreciate the great work your team is doing during this pandemic. My suggestion is why do you always show the depleted building of Wenlock hospital while a new swanky Covid block is there.

Blaming medical fraternity when things go wrong is become a fashion in our country without realising what kind of stress and pressure they work day and night to save lives. We as responsible citizens forget our part to take caution and care to prevent infections in our daily life. Look at the way we throw garbage at the road sides and into water bodies as well free roaming without masks in these pandemic situation. We throw the rules framed by the government in to the air and then blame government and medical fraternity. Most of the doctors working in Wenlock hospital Covid wards are PG and Undergraduate Medical students from KMC and they get paid a pittance of stipend for risking their own lives to save others lives. Last year they had to go on strike to get their stipends paid. Shifting the patients from ICU and Ventilators is not done unless the Doctors are sure of the patients are free of risks. Without knowing the medical history of the woman died it's not right to blame the medical staff. The best part is the relatives of the woman are demanding compensation as the solution for her death and that anwers all questions.

praveen s, permannur Here there is no question of BJP or Congress or JDS.....at the end of the day who is the boss in a democracy.... it's is the people. Who elected these political leaders.... it's we who voted them to Power without realising what we wanted...we didn't ask them to give us good hospitals and medical facilities, good governance, schools and institutions of higher education, good roads and highways, safe healthy environment and drinking water, instead we were happy when they offered temples, statues, caste and religious divisions, and so on. So what we asked and prayed for, we are getting now....why crying then......???? Enjoy....and vote again after.....3 years.

As far as my limited knowledge is, when patient is shifted to ward, there is no need to arrange for ventilator, becoz ventilator is for icu patient who has gone bad

Dear Divakar and Hegde, you are absolutely correct. We dont know actually what happenned with this lady in Wenlock hospital. May be, she / her family members were well practicing COVID precautions, even then she got infected. Really we feel pity on her death. But public (who roam without Covid fear) should understand one thing. If we show negligence on corona, medical system will have to neglect us because of shortage of facility and increased caseloads..

It is not right or rational to suspect and abuse hospital or medical authorities to any untoward incidents on medical staff. They know what is the best. These people sacrifice their life and take care of infected people. Instead of doubting please pray for their well being and good health

Fighting a legal battle for negligence is good but asking for compensation seems like the family is trying to mint this situation.

Kamath is playing politics here. His party is ruling Karnataka and central governments and every day you see in news papers that various BJP MLA and MP's are visiting hospitalsand posing for photographs even on a naval ship which brought corona aid from Kuwait. One of them who held a super spreader event in his house with over thousand people posing in front. Other BJP leaders wanted festivals to be exempted form lockdown. What is wrong with all these politicians? People are suffering from their mishandling of the situation. Remember corona has no religious discrimination. Remember only vaccination, mask and social distancing can save you and your family.

What are MP, MLA's doing they should see to it that people of the district and others get professional care in the State run hospitals. They should see to it that people gain trust in the Government run hospitals. People get shocked when they hear of Wenlock when they think of going for the jab ( vaccination).

An MLA MP or Govt can be effective only if all under him/it including us the people discharge their responsibilities to the best of their abilities. Even now you will find people roaming around without masks, organizing secret functions, travelling inter district
