Mumbai, Jun 8: Gayatri Pariwar Baroda distributed grocery kits worth Rs 3,000 to 300 poor families in their houses. The kits consisted of 30 kg wheat, 10 kg rice, two kg toor dal, one kg moong dal, two kg sugar, one kg tea powder, one kg cooking oil, masala powders and essential items of daily use.
The items that are likely to last for about three months for a small family were distributed at Baroda and the villages near to Gayatri Shaktipeeta. The service is in progress by donations from Dayananda Bontra, head of Gayatri Pariwar Baroda and other donors.
“The Corona pandemic has made us indulge in more social work. Most of our elders participated voluntarily in the service. We spend our time with the intention that nobody should be deprived of food,” said Dayananda Bontra.
