Udupi, Jun 16: Kaup Block Congress workers on Wednesday, June 16 staged a protest against the BJP-led union government for hiking the petrol, diesel prices in the country.

The protest was held in front of Shiva's Indian Oil petrol pump.

Addressing the protestors, former minister Vinay Kumar Sorake said, "As people are suffering financial instability in the country, following the pandemic, the BJP-led union and state government is sucking the blood of the poor."

"Prices of petrol and diesel have been constantly hiked and electricity tariff has been increased. If the countries like Bangladesh and Pakistan are coming forward to help us, just imagine the plight of India," he questioned.

The BJP-government is all set on looting the people, he alleged.
