Udupi: Shirva businessman, BJP activist Sunil Cabral (53) dies of Covid

Udupi, Jun 18: Businessman and BJP activist Sunil Cabral Shirva (53) succumbed to Covid on Friday June 18.

He underwent treatment in a private hospital for Covid. Sunil was an active social worker and was the former leader of Congress. During the recent gram panchayat elections, he had joined BJP and had contested for gram panchayat elections where he lost.

He also served as the president of the Rotary Club Shirva Golden Jubilee celebration. Sunil Cabral was a member of gram panchayat for one term.

He had initiated Fr Mahesh Abhimani Balaga and was actively involved in the fight for justice.

He had also served as a director in the coastal development authority during the Congress government.
