Kasargod: Man arrested for assaulting, robbing salon employee

Kasargod, Aug 16: Manjeshwar station police personnel arrested Irfan (46), a resident of Mulinja, in connection with assault and robbery of an Uttar Pradesh-based salon employee. Two others who were involved in the crime are said to be absconding.

The incident took place at about 1 am after midnight on Sunday. Irfan and two others illegally entered the flat on Uppala railway station road hit a person on the head with an iron rod, threatened brandishing deadly weapons and robbed Rs 21,000. Salon employee Alam had lodged a complaint at Manjeshwar police station in this connection. Police personnel, who conducted investigation, arrested Irfan at Uppala.

Irfan was arrested earlier in connection with a murder and released only a few months ago. Police are trying to nab two other accused who are on the run.
