Mangaluru: Padma Shri awardee Hajabba felicitated at New Padpu high school

Mangaluru, Nov 9: “The video of education saint Hajabba being conferred Padma Shri by the President of India should be shown to all the students. The service of Hajabba is the one which inspires others. The achievement of Hajabba is an honour to the district education department,” said education department deputy director G Malleswamy. He was speaking after felicitating Padma Shri Harekala Hajabba in the programme held at Harekala New Padpu high school on Tuesday.

Harekala Ramakrishna high school retired headmaster K Ravindra Rai Harekala, Mangaluru university professor Dr Prashanth Naik, assistant professor Dr Govinda Raj, taluk coordination officer Dr Prashanth Kumar, Mohammed Monu, journalist Guruvappa N T, Balepuni talent research foundation advisor Dr Rafik Master, Fajir church vice president Richard, Juma masjid’s T Khalid, gram panchayat vice president Kalyani, gram panchayat members and Deralakatte Fahima international travel partner Kalandar were present.

District Rajyotsava awardee Vidyadhar Shetty was felicitated on the occasion. ACP Mahesh Kumar commended Hajabba.

Gram panchayat president Badruddin Faridnagar welcomed. Taluk panchayat former member Mohammed Mustafa Harekala gave a keynote address. Tyagam Harekala compered the programme.

Kalander, partner of Fahima national travels, Deralakatte assured that his travel agency will provide free travel for Haj and Umra pilgrimage to Hajabba who did not expect anybody’s help and offered everything of his to the school.
