Mangaluru: Thefts in two houses - Thieves return richer by ten lac rupees

Mangaluru, Nov 12: Thieves gained entry into two houses located in Gandhinagar fifth cross at Mannagudda here on the night of Tuesday. They took away ornaments worth about ten lac rupees.

The thieves who reached the first floor of a house belonging to Laxman Kamath entered the house from the southern side door. They sifted through the almirah and went away with cash and gold ornaments worth Rs 6.74 lac. The theft happened between 11 pm and 6 am on Wednesday.

In the other incident, the thieves entered the house of Ramachandra Bhandary from the rear door and stole cash and ornaments worth Rs 3.86 lac.

A case has been registered in Barke police station about these thefts.
