Karwar: Man robs lover's ornaments, mobile phone

Karwar, Nov 12: A man who had befriended a woman who was living separately from the husband, had brought her to Uttara Kannada district on tour. Once in Gokarna, he stole her gold ornaments, mobile phone and bag and locked her in the room of a lodge there.

The woman is from Chikkodi in Belagavi district while her lover is from Pune. They came to know each other on some occasion and fell in love with each other. The man also earned her trust by promising to marry her. The couple came on a tour of temple town, Gokarna, on Wednesday and rented a room in a lodge located in the car street.

Both consumed liquor at night. When the woman was deep asleep due to the effect of liquor, the man took away a golden chain worth Rs 1.52 lac, two ear hangings, Rs 15,000 in cash and a bag containing the mobile phone, all of which belonged to the woman, and fled. He locked the door of the room and went missing. The woman has filed a complaint in this regard.
