Bantwal, Nov 15: “The values that are mentioned in the Holy Bible should be followed also in our daily lives. Only then will the fraternity and the Sunday celebrations gain significance,” said judicial vicar of Mangaluru Catholic diocese Fr Walter D’Mello.

He was speaking as the parish priest in the fraternal Sunday programme held at Soorikumeru St Joseph Church here on November 14. “We pray at homes and various other places. We sing beautiful hymns with devotion. Why it is not possible for us to forgive one another in our lives as taught in the Bible? We should follow the path shown by our chief priest Jesus Christ.

The pro society services provided by Catholics indulging in education, medical and other social sectors cannot be explained,” he said in the homily during the mass.

He inaugurated the computerization of birth extracts of families in the parish, and other records pertaining to the parish after the mass and issued the first computerized birth certificate to Cecilia Pinto, senior parishioner of the parish and junior parishioner Eldon Suarez.

Soorikumeru church parish priest Fr Gregory Pereira, vice president of parish pastoral council Elias Pereira, secretary Mary D’ Souza, Sr Nancy, gurkars of various wards and former vice president Roshan Martis were present.
