Mangaluru: Free eye checkup camp held at Snehalaya

Mangaluru, Nov 16: A free eye check-up camp was held on Tuesday November 16 at the premises of Snehalaya.

The inspection camp was organized in collaboration with Snehalaya Charitable Trust, Mangalore Round Table 115, and Mangalore Ladies Circle 82.

An inspection programme was conducted by the doctors of Prasad Nethralaya, Mangaluru.

More than 150 people from Bachalike, Pavoor, Manjeswara, Vorkady, Thoudugoli and Gerukatte made use of the camp.

About 93 people with eye problems were found to be in need of spectacles and about 25 required eye surgery. They will be given spectacles and surgery for free at the earliest.

Royster, chairman of Mangalore Round Table, Fateh Mohammad, secretary, Vinay Fernandes, programme coordinator, Jennifer Fernandes, chairperson of Mangalore Ladies Circle 82 and Joseph Crasta, founder of Snehalaya were present. Staff and residents of Snehalaya also got benefited from this free eye check-up camp.
