Bengaluru: High court okays election to Wakf Board president's post

Bengaluru, Nov 17: The state high court has agreed for the proposal to hold election to the post of the president of Karnataka State Wakf Board.

The single judge bench of the high court presided over by Justice Krishna S Dixit which took up an application made by Mohammed Muzammil seeking a stay order against holding of the said election, passed direction to go ahead with the election while dismissing the petition.

The bench observed that the petitioner, if he has any objections, can raise a dispute with the tribunal under section 83 of the Wakf Act within three months and get his grievances addressed.
