Mangaluru: Man fleeced of Rs 49,998 in DHL Customer care disguise

Mangaluru, Nov 17: A complaint about having been duped in the name of DHL Customer Care has been registered in the CEN police station here. The complainant in this case lost Rs 49,,998.

The complainant had made a call to DHL Customer Care on November 13. Later, he received a call from a man who introduced himself to be from DHL Customer Care. He advised the account holder to download Any Desk App. He then received a link in his mobile number and was advised to remit Rs 5. The man who clicked the link also furnished details like account number, card number and OTP. He said that thereafter, two debits of Rs 24,999 each were made to his account thereafter without his authorization.

The police have begun investigation in the case.
