Kolar, Nov 18: Various Hindu organizations have given a call for Kolar bandh on Thursday November 18 condemning the attack on Datta devotees proceeding to Datta Peeta in Chikkamagaluru recently. In the meanwhile, the district administration has restrained Sri Ram Sene chief, Pramod Mluthalik, from entering the district.

The said attack by way of pelting stones had happened when a group of devotees were proceeding in a mini bus from the town to Chikkamagaluru. Hindu organizations and the devotees had resorted to flash protest opposite the police station. The police have arrested ten persons relating to this incident so far.

On Wednesday, several pro Hindu organizations undertook a bike rally in the town to register their protest against the said incident. They sought the support of the people for the bandh call on Thursday.

With a view to control law and order situation in the district, deputy commissioner Dr R Selvamani, has issued an order banning the entry of Pramod Muthali, Sri Ram Sene chief, from entering the district from November 18 to 2 4. He has also placed a ban on playing the audio and video speeches of Muthalik.

Kolar has been a communally sensitive area since 1 980 and a number of unsavoury incidents had happened here in the past. The deputy commissioner said in his order that in view of these things, the entry of Muthalik has been banned in order to maintain communal harmony in the district.
