Kundapur, Nov 18: Yellow rain which fell on the residence of a person residing near the seashore at Beejady, Koteshwar near here, not only aroused the curiosity of the people of the region but also gave rise to apprehension.

The rain left yellow colour on the roof slab, plants and tree leaves, and clothes hung for drying. Even after an effort to remove the colour was made, the colour stayed on. This phenomenon was observed over an area having about a hundred metres diameter.

A similar incident also happened near Amasebail in the taluk. It is suspected that some chemical in the environment would have got mixed with rainwater and caused this phenomenon.
