Mangaluru: KSOU 166th general session - DC seeks report on code violation

Mangaluru, Nov 20: The 166th general session of Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) governing council was held at Mangalore University on Friday November 19. Dakshina Kannada district deputy commissioner, Dr Rajendra K V, has sought a report on the same.

The 166th general session of the governing council of KSOU was scheduled for October 29. Later, it was postponed to November 19. Dakshina Kannada deputy commissioner received a complaint that the university has violated the code of conduct by holding a meeting when it was in force.

A decision to hold the meeting here was taken as the vice chancellor of Mangalore University is a member of the KSOU governing council. No people's representatives had attended the meeting. Meetings were also held at KSOU Mysuru, said Rajanna, registrar, KSOU. The deputy commissioner said that a notice was sent seeking a report as he has received a complaint about code of conduct violation. He said further steps will be decided on the basis of the report once it is received.
