Bantwal: Woman jumps into river from Panemangalore bridge

Bantwal, Nov 20: It is learnt that a woman jumped into Netravati river from Panemangalore bridge in the morning hours on Saturday November 20. Some people who were moving in their vehicles at around 10 am today saw the woman taking a jump from the bridge, and informed the police station here.

The local divers immediately used boats to undertake search operations. However by then she was washed away due to the force of flowing water, it is said. The identity of the woman could not be established immediately. After this incident, as curious onlookers gathered, traffic on national highway 75 was adversely affected.

Bantwal rural station police inspector T D Nagaraj, reached the spot and steam lined the traffic.
