Hassan: Party run by single family - Shobha Karandlaje ridicules JD(S)

Daijiworld Media Network - Hassan (SP)

Hassan, Nov 22: Addressing the 'Jana Swaraj' convention held here on Sunday November 21, union minister Shobha Karandlaje, ridiculed the JD(S) of being a party run by a single family. "Do you know why the minister Gopalaiah, deserted the JD(S)? He was tired of saluting the father in the morning, son in the afternoon, and the daughter-in-law in the evening. He got frustrated by this system and therefore chose to be with the BJP," she said.

"People of this district are good and intelligent. But I fail to understand why you people repeatedly bow before a single family. It would have been enough if Revanna was elected to the assembly and Prajwal to the Lok Sabha. How many more people will you elect from a single family? Their style of politics is making a mockery of the democratic system," she said.

She said that the Congress party too has been reduced to a similar situation. She said that the BJP has put up good candidates whereas the other parties are trying to prop up people involved with selling toddy and such other activities.

Rural development minister K S Eshwarappa, said that Deve Gowda, Kumaraswamy, Revanna, Bhavani, Nikhil, Prajwal, and Anita Kumaraswamy from a single family are in politics. He wanted to know whether there are others in the Deve Gowda family who are not in politics. He wanted to know whether there is any other family with eight members in politics other than the family of Deve Gowda. He pointed out that even the family of Mulayam Singh Yadav in Uttar Pradesh has only five family members in politics. He called upon the people to decide not to allow a single family to decide their future and make the BJP candidate Vishwanath, victorious.
