Lions Club Mangalore Centurion with other organizations hold blood donation camp

Mangaluru, Nov 22: Lions Club Mangalore Centurion in association with Catholic Sabha unit of St Lawrence parish, Bondel and other social welfare/voluntary organizations, in collaboration with Father Muller Medical College Hospital and KMC Hospital, here held a mega health checkup, eye checkup and free distribution of spectacles including blood camp at St Lawrence Kannada Medium School, Bondel, here on Sunday, November 21, from 8.00 am to 1.00pm.

Fr Andrew Leo D’Souza, parish priest of Bondel, Fr Peter Gonsalves, assistant parish priest, Catholic Sabha Bondel parish unit president Stephen D’Silva, Bondel parishioner, entrepreneur and philanthropist Henbert Pinto, Lions Club Mangaluru Centurion chief extension chairperson Lawrence Lobo, guiding Lion MJF Govardhan Shetty, president Robert D Costa and others were present at the simple function held before beginning the mega camp.

Fr Andrew, MJF Govardhan Shetty, and others felicitated Malini Menezes who is working as matron at Father Muller Medical College Hospital, for bagging the Nightingale Award in recognition of her dedicated service during the Covid-19 pandemic on the same occasion.

Over 300 people have undergone eye checkups and equal numbers also availed the general checkup during the mega camp.

Forty-four units of blood were collected during the blood camp.
