Belthangady Deanery Education Commission organizes 'Staff Enrichment Programme'

Beltangady, Nov 24: The Staff Enrichment Programme was organized by Belthangady Deanery Education Commission on Monday, November 22, at Holy Redeemer English Medium School, Belthangady. It was organized for the catholic teaching faculty who have been teaching in aided, unaided and government schools and PU colleges particularly from 6th std to 12th std.

Altogether 88 teaching faculty from 12 parishes of Belthangady Deanery including the heads of the institutions were present at the meeting and above all seven Deanery Priests and a Deacon also participated in the aforesaid training programme. The programme commenced with the prayer song sung by teaching faculty of Sacred Heart English Medium School Madanthyar. Thereafter Fr Jerome Dsouza, principal Sacred Heart PU College who is also co-ordinator of Belthangady Deanery Education Commission welcomed the gathering and introduced the chief guests to the audience.

Leo Rodrigues, the secretary of Belthangady Deanery Pastoral Council appreciated the hard work of the teachers in the field of education particularly forming the future of the students. Fr Joseph Cardoza, the vicar vara of Belthangady Deanery presided over the stage programme. Dr Cyprian Monteiro, the principal, govt BEd College Mangaluru being a resource person of the day with the power point presentation highlighted how to prepare our students to face competitive examinations such as NMMS, NTSE and Aptitude Test. The teaching faculty should motivate the students to appear for competitive examinations such as KPSC exam, Banking exam. The teacher should be professionally qualify by appearing for TET, BEd Entrance Test, K-SET, NET and PGCET exams.

Dr Norbert Lobo head of the administrative department and HOD of Economics department at St Aloysius Autonomous College highlighted the importance of National Education Policy - 2020 and its pros and cons through power point presentation. He also stressed the need for the teaching faculty to be professionally competent to handle the latest syllabus with skill management. Thereafter the time was given for the feedback based on the above presentation. Naveen Puttur BRC also brought to the notice of the teaching faculty that it is important to form a resource team so has to conduct online coaching on career guidance to the catholic students of Belthangady Deanery level. Fr Joseph Uday Fernandes principal, Anugraha PU College, Ujire was the master of ceremonies, Fr Clifford Pinto the principal of the Holy Redeemer English Medium School, Belthangady had given technical assistance and Vinod Monis proposed the vote of thanks.
